Devlog10: Our finished game!


Welcome back everyone! 

This was the final polish week for our group and our game, here are the things we did in the final stretch!

Programming:

We fixed the issue where the textures didn't draw for the upgrades. This took a lot of our time.

But the most time was spent on fixing bugs, other small issues we encountered and making the game play better.

We changed a bit of the speed and speed multiplier for the player and also for the asteroids and scrap.

A bug regarding the score has been fixed, where you had a chance, a high chance, to get 0 points added.

fixing Scoreboard, can't have the same name anymore.

fixing mega scrap, won't stop anymore when hit by the player.

and making the asteroid boss not rotatable are a few to sum up.


The artists have been working at improving and tweaking visuals to get the game as ready as it can be.


Wouter has improved rfx in the game and added even more.

Deposit station effect, The effect also has a reaction to the player depositing the scrap.

Toxic waste rework.

Space traffic rfx to make the world feel more alive.


Thijs has tweaked a lot of stuff this past week texture and sound wise, these include:

- Optimizing textures

- Cutting and optimizing sounds

- Tweaking sounds:

            - Red laser sound

            - Toxic area sound bug fix


Niels on the other hand, has improved and tweaked a lot of stuff on the model side, this includes optimizing all 

the scrap pieces that are in the game for an improved experience in overall performance.


Alex has tweaked some UI bugs and visuals, these include:

         - Lock-on rework

         - Main menu + Hud reformating

He also created a small tutorial so the player won't get lost right from the start, here's an example.



A huge thanks to everybody who supported our game and took the time to test it out and play it.
